I have been a basket weaver for over 30 years. After many years of weaving and teaching reed baskets, I discovered coiling using pine needles. About the same time I learned the art of lapidary. So, I cut, grind and polish all of the cabochons used in my weavings. I use my cabs to make and teach pine needle art and silver jewelry piec

I collect my pine needles in Florida. The needles are cleaned and dried. Then they are soaked in a glycerine bath that makes them more pliable and easier to coil with. Then dried again!

A cabochon (cab) is cut from a slab of stone or crystal, which I grind to shape , sand, and polish to bring out color and sheen. Then the creative process begins! I use the cabs for pine needle coiling, jewelry making or to sell the cabs to other creative artists.

Love Teaching

I love teaching my pine needle baskets. I teach at many weaving conventions, guilds and groups. My teaching goal for students is to get them to play 'outside the box" and create their own art pieces. It is each student's time to be creative.

My mission is to inspire creativity and support artists by providing the tools they need to bring their visions to life.
